Republicans press for Senate vote on health care

Senate Republicans want to box predominance Democrats into permit a health care cancel vote even if GOP lawmakers wait for to be on the behind side.

"We need to have a cast your vote on it because we swear the people we would," Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., said Sunday on "Face the Nation" on CBS. "We have to have a vote on revoke so that all and sundry is on confirmation whether they want to revoke."

Republicans took have power over of the House after November's election and last week voted, as promised, to retract the health care law. Lone three Democrats joined all Republicans in the 245-189 vote to piece the law.

Bernanke defends bond buys, citing at-risk economy

Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke is stepping up his resistance of the Fed's $600 billion Treasury bond-purchase plan; proverb the economy is still stressed to become "self-sustaining" without government help.

In a taped conference with CBS' "60 Minutes" that aired Sunday night, Bernanke also argued that Congress shouldn't cut expenditure or boost taxes given how fragile the economy remains.

The Fed chairman said he thinks another depression is unlikely. Other than he warned that the economy could suffer a hold up if persistently high being without a job dampens consumer spending.

The conference is part of a broad counterattack Bernanke has been waging against critics of the bond purchase plan the Fed announce Nov. 3. The purchases are intended to lower long-term interest rates, lift stock prices and give confidence more spending to boost the economy.

Sherrod: I'd Consider Legal Action against Breitbart

Ex- Agriculture Section officer Shirley Sherrod said Thursday that she would think legal action alongside the conservative blogger who posted the video that led to her ouster.Talking on CBS' Early Show, Sherrod said that while she hasn't actively talked about suing Andrew Breitbart, she

"would without doubt consider it."

Sherrod said that Breitbart's meanings were obvious - but misguided.

"As much as he's saying it was concerning the NAACP, he had to know that it was about me," Sherrod said. "He was willing to destroy me to get to what he thought -- to try to destroy the NAACP."

"He had to be acquainted with what he was doing," she added. "I'm certain he didn't think the other side of the story would come out, but he knew he was misrepresenting the facts."
