President Barack Obama said a physically powerful, job-creating country in the United States would be the country's most significant payment to a global recovery as he pleaded with world leaders to work together in spite of sharp difference.
Inward in South Korea on Wednesday for the G-20 top, Obama is expected to find himself on the defensive since of plans by the Federal Reserve to buy $600 billion in long-term government bonds to try to drive down absorption rates, spur lending and boost the U.S. economy. A little other nation complains that the move will give American goods an unfair advantage.
In a correspondence sent Tuesday to leaders of the Group of 20 main economic powers, Obama protected the steps his management and Congress have in use to help the economy.
