U.S. officials try to address air security worries

The Department of Homeland Security said on Friday it is maddening to address concerns of pilots about stepped-up show at U.S. airports and doubts in the travel manufacturing that fliers will limit trips since of more rigorous checks.

Security officials have defended the events after foiled plots by al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, which tried to hide bombs in clothes and parcels that made it aboard a U.S. traveler airliner and two cargo planes.

Following fierce complaints by pilots concerning new full-body scanners and more thorough patdowns that began recently, the Transportation Security management has in progress testing other methods for them, a DHS bureaucrat said.
