Go Daddy: SOPA anti-piracy act support


December 29 has emerged as the day on which clients would shift sites and domains away from Go Daddy. A refuse of US hosting firm Go Daddy looks set to go ahead even though the firm has said it no longer supports the strategy that sparked it. Go Daddy provides servers on which a lot of people upload their websites and it also act as a registrar for internet domains - the well-known web addresses ending in .com, .org etc.



Go Daddy’s competitors have cashed in on the controversy, with many donation discounts if customers transfer to them from the hosting dense. SOPA, which has until now to be voted on by the US assembly, lets movie studios and proof labels look for court instructions to knock sites offline if they think they follow piracy or aid it.
