Horse death: HBO cancels Dustin Hoffman drama Luck


US system HBO has cancelled its lavish TV horse-racing drama Luck after a third animal was wounded and put down during manufacture. It debuted in the US in January and will see its first season finale broadcast on 25 March. Though the AHA - which oversees Hollywood productions, noted the disaster did not happen during filming or racing, it issued the command that all making involving horses close down.


According to Dr Beck the horse was on her method back to the stall when she reared, flipped over backwards, and struck her head on the ground. The conclusion to cancel the whole sequence came one day after filming was suspended pending a study into the horse's loss. Throughout filming of the first series in 2010 and 2011, two horses were injure through racing scenes and were then put down.
