Singer Davy Jones Former band mate Mickey Dolenz has revealed the remaining members of the Monkeys are unlikely to be present at the memorial service of singer Davy Jones this week. Born in Manchester in 1945, the former child actor was brought together with Dolenz, Michael Nesmith and Peter Tork to form a US alternative to the Beatles.
Plans are afoot to hold public memorials in New York and London, while a third event may take place in Los Angeles. The band enjoyed huge fame with their television show and a string of hits including I'm A Believer and Daydream supporter - on which Jones sang lead vocals.
