Police investigating a string of sex assaults in South Auckland have taken DNA samples from identical twins.
Four daylight attacks - one of them the rape of an 8-year-old girl - have been carried out in an alleyway behind Nga Iwi Primary School in Mangere in the past two months.
All of the assaults were on women, and of a sexual nature. The victims ranged in age from 8 to 29 years.
Sources yesterday told the Herald that detectives had spoken to the twins and DNA samples had been taken from both.
