Mr. Little: Voice algorithms for Parkinson's disease

Parkinson's is a shocking disease for those living with the situation and currently there is no cure. Diagnosis can also be measured as there are no blood tests to notice it. Mr. Little has revealed that Parkinson's symptoms can be detected by computer algorithms that analyze voice recordings. He will be kicking off the TED Global meeting in Edinburgh calling for volunteers to donate to a huge voice record.

While he was studying for a PhD at Oxford University in 2003, Mr. Little became interested in understanding voice from a mathematical perception. Andy Grove, one of Intel's founders and ex-chief manager, was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2000 and has since pledged millions of his personal fortune to fund research into the disease. In a blind test of voices, the method was able to mark those with Parkinson's with an accuracy of 86%.
