Trolley bomber in Aus

5 people are in the high reliance unit at Royal Darwin Hospital later than a bomb went off in a city shop. A man has handed himself into police after the blast at the Territory Insurance Office among Smith and Cavenagh streets.

It is believed the man full a trolley with jerry cans full of petroleum and fireworks before wheeling it hooked on the TIO office. "I realize that there was some flammable fluid. The source of the blast and the nature of the blast will be subject to an inquiry," said Police Incident Officer Rob Kendrick.

"The person of notice has attended at Darwin Police Station, surrendered and he is currently in custody," he thought. He said police had not resolute the motive for the assault. Ambulance, police and fire crews worked to care for the injured at the scene.

NT Police Commander said the man liable for the blast was an unhappy claimant. "It was a heartless act," she said. "In hindsight we are very lucky there was no loss of life."
