The terrorism suspect, a former Colorado airport shuttle driver from Afghanistan, pleaded at fault Monday to conspiring to detonate explosives in the US. In a look before a federal judge, Zazi admitted his role in the scheme, saying, "In spring 2008, I conspired with others to join the Taliban, to fight beside with the Taliban next to the US." He told, "We were recruited to al Qaeda in its place."He pleaded guilty to 3 counts: conspiring to use weapons of set destruction, conspiracy to commit murder in a foreign country & provide material hold to a terrorist organization. Sentencing is put for June 25.
Zazi was in prison in September in an alleged plot to put up & detonate bombs in New York concerning the anniversary of the September 11, 2001, attacks. Although at a terrorist training camp in Pakistan, he had planning with al Qaeda about targets with the New York City subway system, Zazi told in court Monday.
Federal officials have told the conspiracy involving Zazi represents the serious terrorism plot while 9/11 & the investigation is intense & continuing.
