A missing man has been rescued in National Park after a search and rescue operation was launched late Wednesday night.A rescue helicopter winched the man to security after locating him a few hours ago.
Police say the man was due back from his walk at 5:30 but when he failed to return a search operation was put in place. They made communication with him through his cellphone but were not capable to determine his location for a few hours.
Two ground search teams were dispatched and a helicopter was sent from Wellington prepared with night vision equipment.
The man was allegedly tiring jeans, t-shirt, a jacket and normal shoes.
