The UK cookie law is set to come into force on 26 May, legislation which nearly all online retailers think, would impact their businesses negatively. Cookies are mainly used to modify what repeat visitors see on a site and by advertisers to track users online. The UK cookie law is fraction of the European Union e-privacy command introduced in 2003.
According to the regulations websites must get informed permission from users previous to they record any full information in the cookies they store on visitors' computers. However, internet companies are not happy with the law and 95 percent of them have not complied with the novel directive even after the year-long grace stage. A review of current cookie practices could take time as of the sheer number of cookie files they regularly issue, monitor and update.
