Police Caspir burnt down in protest in Ogies

A police Caspir armoured personnel carrier was burnt to the ground when it was surprise attacked by a group of examine delivery protesters in Ogies on Saturday, police said.

Captain Leonard Hlathi, spokesperson for the Mpumalanga police said the Caspir was irreparably spoiled when it was "outrageously attacked" by a gang who petrol bombed it more times. The strikers apparently led the Caspir into an ambush, by leading it over an unplanned spike strip to puncture its tyres.

3 of the heavy vehicles' puncture proof tyres were blown out when it drove over the spikes that were camouflaged with branches. 1 striker was hurt during the violence. 4 civilian Toyota Quantum minibus taxis, a Condo, & 2 bakkies were too burnt down.
