NASA's Mars looking at rover Opportunity is allowing scientists to get a sight deep within Mars. The rock is given the mineral and chemical makeup of the Martian interior. Marquette isle is different from any known rock on Mars. It is one of the coolest things chance has created in a very long time. For the period of six years of roving, opportunity has created only one other rock of similar volume the scientists conclude was turned out from a distant crater.

Marquette Island is a coarse-grained rock by means of a basalt work. The coarseness indicates it cooled gradually beginning molten rock,allowing crystals time to rise. The rover group used Opportunity's rock abrasion tool to grind missing some of its Island's weathered surface and expose the interior. This was the 38th rock target of the hardest. The tool was designed to break up hooked on one extraterrestrial rock, and this rock may not be its last. While landing on Mars in 2004, chance has made frequent scientific discoveries, with the initial mineralogical evidence that Mars had liquid water.
