Still as Shiv Sena activists tore the posters of Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film in Thane, Minister of State for Home Ramesh Bagwe said the state government was ready to offer security to the actor if he wanted it. Khan, who is also the proprietor of Kolkata Knight Riders, had invited the anger of the Sena for his stand on the addition of Pakistani players in Indian Premier League teams.
Bagwe said the government was too ready to offer safety to theatres screening his cinema. “If he asks, we will offer them. We will take action if anybody tries to get law into hands.” Bagwe said it was the duty of the state to offer defense to foreign players when they stay India. The Sena has in advance announced a ban on Australian cricket players in Mumbai and Maharashtra in protest in opposition to the attacks on Indians Down Under.
Bagwe said the Sena was seeing itself under risk after splits in the party, which was forcing it to lift up these issues. The Sena activists also gave a representation to a multiplex asking the owners not to display the movie
