Security Company Caution of New Trojan

 http://www.news-updations.blogspot.com/F-Secure caution of a new trojan horse virus that disguises itself as Windows software, send-off users uninformed that they are being scammed. The trojan, W32/DatCrypt, makes it seem as though a few of a user's documents, such as Microsoft Office files, video files and music, have been despoiled, when in fact those files have been encrypted by DatCrypt.

It will then show what appears to be a genuine Windows message advising the customer to download and install the "optional file repair software", Data Doctor 2010. One time downloaded, Data Doctor will only be able to fix one ‘damage file clients will be told they need to purchase the full version of the software for $US89.95. After this cash is paid, the documents will be restored.

"This trojan works in a very tricky way. The user is probably very pleased to get his files back and may not realise that he has just paid a payment for his own files. The user may even advise what seems like an excellent file recovery product to his friends. Similar ransomware actions have also mixed up the File Fix Pro utility during the past year," says Wing Fei Chia, Senior Manager, Security Lab at F-Secure.
