The bomb explosion took in Lahore's posh residential region of Model town. A more no of schools, residences of prominent politicians, & religious institutions, including the Quran Academy of religious are located in Model Town.The explosion was so powerful that it flattened the SIU & FIA buildings & left 15 feet deep crater. There were piles of bricks, concrete blocks & metal everywhere at the site. Local TV stations showed urgent situation workers removing bloodied body bags from a crater exterior the shattered in front of the Federal Investigation Agency building.
Other nearby buildings, with a seminary & mosque were also damaged. Investigators believe the bomb contained nearly 600 kilograms of explosives.
