David Askew 64 years was recovering outside his house in Melandra Crescent, Hattersley, at 2140 GMT on Wednesday. In a moment before he died police were called after a no of youths were seen reason trouble near his home.One of his neighbors said: "It's tragic - like bear baiting - tormented to death."
The woman, who did not feel like to be named, added; "They would come & bait David, he was a harmless soul." Police told he was not attacked. The power has referred the case to the police watchdog. Detectives said a Home Office post-mortem test was going on.
