Emergency services are familiarity difficulties with the 111 scheme, with some callers unable to reach police. Police told the problem appeared to be confined to the Auckland area, & Telecom was working on the trouble. The 111 system went down at around 3.30am says report.
Telecom spokesman Mark Watts told the problem may be irregular & some 111 callers may be able to get through. He told Telecom was taking the trouble very seriously & trying to fix the problem as soon as possible.
This trouble was not related to the network but affected callers on all networks on landlines & mobiles. The callers have been receiving a range of responses with an engaged signal & no signal at all.
