Vancouver, - American snowboarder Shaun White won his second successive Olympic gold medal in men's halfpipe Wednesday. White had previously locked up the gold with his first run in the final, but he scored well again on the second, throwing his Double McTwist 1260 at the end for a gain of 48.4 points.
Local speed skater Chad Hedrick won the bronze medal in the men's 1000m on the Vancouver Olympic Games on Wednesday. Hedrick (+0.38) finished 3rd behind fellow American Shani Davis (1:08.94) who became the 1st man ever to win back-to-back golds in the 1500m and Tae-Bum Mo of Korea (+0.18).
The medal was Hedrick's 4th, adding to the gold, silver and bronze he won at the 2006 Torino games. He will be skating in 2 more events in Vancouver, the 1500m on Saturday at 6:15 local time on NBC & the team pursuit being held Feb. 26-27.
