At Vancouver 2010 the US women’s curling team has suffered 2 defeats dealing a heavy blow to their game plans. They were beaten 9-2 by Canada on Sunday morning, then went on to be defeated in the evening to the Swedes by 9-3.
The team had to accept defeat and conceded to the Canadian team later than the seventh end. Against the Swedish team they were enforced to admit they were beaten after the ninth end. In the Swedish match the teams were drawn 1-1 after 3 ends but the Swedes made it trouble-free for themselves after that winning 3- points ends in both the sixth and ninth.
Meanwhile Canada went on in their evening match to lose their first round-robin game. The game went on to extra ends and resulted in a victory for China at 6-5. China’s scores have now risen in the round-robin sessions to 5-2.
Other match results were Germany vs. Japan 7-6, Switzerland vs. Great Britain 10-6, Denmark vs. Germany 6-5 and Japan vs. Russia 12-9 after extra ends.
